Our Advice Process

Building relationships based on trust

Seeking financial advice can seem a daunting prospect. It is important therefore that you choose an Independent Financial Adviser that you feel you can trust and work with on a personal level.

At Park Lane, we are proud of the fact that our new business comes solely through recommendations from existing clients and professional partners, such as accountants and solicitors.

We work closely with you to build trusted, long-standing personal relationships. To build and maintain this type of relationship, we meet with you regularly and use a proven four-stage process that ensures you are fully involved in all the key decisions.

Initially, it is important that you meet us to see if you would like to work with us and, in turn, to see if we can assist you. Our initial consultation is free of charge and without any obligation on either side.

1.

Fact Finding

Understanding you and your aspirations

We begin with a fact-finding session, which enables us to build up a picture of your personal and financial circumstances, and your long-term aspirations and ambitions. Next, we aim to understand, agree and prioritise your goals. This ensures that our advice is tailored to your priorities and that we have the understanding necessary to deliver your goals.

At this stage, we give you an overview of the advisory and implementation process. This includes a transparent indication of the fees and timings we envisage. From the outset, you know exactly what is involved before you commit. With this trust established, we can begin to move forward.

2.

Advice and recommendations

Establishing an appropriate solution

We will research all suitable financial products and services from across the whole market place. We then provide formal recommendations that meet your financial objectives. In most cases, we will prepare a formal recommendation report, with the option of a further consultation to talk through your options.

3.

Implementation

Putting your agreed strategy into operation

Once you understand the options and are comfortable in making decisions based on our recommendations, we can implement your personal financial plan. We will support you by completing documentation and liaising with providers on your behalf. We will also provide a formal record that documents the advice we gave and the reasons why we have recommended these actions.

4.

Ongoing review

Keeping your plan on target for the long term

Only through cultivating a long lasting relationship with our clients can we truly offer them the service we believe in. Close contact and regular reviews are vital in helping clients to monitor their progress against their financial objectives, to make sure that they are met in the years ahead.

At the meetings, your adviser will review progress over the year, discuss changes in your personal, business and financial situation, and clarify goals and strategies for the period ahead. Following the meeting, you will receive a short written report summarising what was discussed, outlining any short falls or opportunities which you may wish to address, and agreeing your action plan for the year ahead.
